PEKANBARU - Based on data released by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Riau Province, in March 2023, there were 3,474 foreign tourists visiting Riau.

"Thousands of foreign tourists entered Riau through several entrances such as SSK II Airport, Dumai Port, Bengkalis Regency Port, and Tanjung Harapan Port of Meranti Islands Regency. The total number of tourists included 3,474 foreign tourists in March 2023," said the Head of BPS. Riau, Asep Riyadi, Wednesday (3/5/2023).

However, the room occupancy rate (TPK) for star hotels in Riau decreased by 1.09 points in March 2023 compared to the previous month, with a TPK rate of 35.39 percent.

"Even so, 3-star hotels still recorded the highest TPK, which was 41.01 percent," he said.

In addition, the average length of stay of foreign guests at star-rated hotels in Riau decreased significantly by 0.94 points to 2.19 days in March 2023.

Meanwhile, the average length of stay of domestic guests rose 0.02 points to 1.20 days in the same month.

"However, overall, the average length of stay of foreign and domestic guests at star-rated hotels in March 2023 increased by 0.01 points to 1.21 days," he said. (Mediacenter Riau/bts)
