PEKANBARU - The Riau Provincial Government through the Riau Tourism Office is preparing the Riau tourism agenda for 2023. It is planned that the final Riau tourism event will be launched in January.

Head of the Riau Tourism Office, Roni Rakhmat said, due to the easing of the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be more Riau tourism events this year compared to 2022.

"It is planned that the Riau tourism agenda for 2023 will be launched on January 30. There will be more events compared to the previous year because COVID-19 has subsided," said Roni Rakhmat.

Roni further predicts an increase in the number of tourism events that will be enforced can reach 30 percent. This is because several events that were previously postponed can be held this year.

"Riau tourism events that were previously postponed, namely the Bakar Tongkang in Rokan Hilir and the Cian Cui Water War Festival in Selat Panjag will be held this year," he concluded.

Meanwhile, at the national level, there were seven Riau tourism events that were included in the final selection for the Kharisma Event National (KEN) 2023.

The seven events include Bakar Tongkang, Kenduri Riau, Rupat Festival, Bono Festival, Pacu Jalur, Siak Bermadah and Subayang Festival.
