Bandar Khayangan Lembah Sari Lake is one of the tourist attractions in Pekanbaru with natural nuances.  This tourist destination is located in Rumbai District.  Initially, this lake was an irrigation dam located approximately 10 kilometers from the city center.  To get to the location of this lake, from Pekanbaru we can use public transportation or private cars with a journey of about 25 minutes because the distance is only 15 kilometers from the city center of Pekanbaru.

Many people spend the weekend at Kayangan Lake for family recreation, fishing and even playing water bikes.  Not a few also try to play canoes around the lake with a rental boat.  To ride a water vehicle on this lake, we will gather at a dock like a port that will take us sailing.

To increase visits to Bandar Kahyangan Lake every year, Pekanbaru Municipal Government holds a cultural festival and water sports on this lake.  The activity carried out several rowing boat races, barge boat competitions, duck racing competitions, Islamic calligraphy exhibitions, UKM bazaar, and several student-level art competitions throughout Pekanbaru City.  During the festival, a variety of culinary tours are also presented that we can enjoy for visitors, such as rice cendol, leaf grilled fish, and foods made from types of cassava and sago.

This lake is also one of the XVII PON venues in Riau for water skiing.  Sufficient depth and width of the lake meet the requirements for the implementation of the water skiing branch.  There are also fish ponds in the environment around the lake which are managed by the people around the lake.  Some of them even develop captive Sumatran arowana fish.
